In the comments to these weekly posts (and only these posts), it's your chance to go as off topic as you like. Talk about non-comics stuff, thread derail, and just generally chat amongst yourselves.
I'm not going to mention politics specifically, but I will share a new word I learned this week;
Kakistocracy - Government by the least qualified or most unprincipled citizens
I can't imagine why that seemed relevant....
I hope everyone survived Black Friday intact, or took part in the far less stressful sounding "Buy Nothing Friday".
After about 18GB of downloads, patches and copious swearing in my most Scottish accent, I've managed to get my Year 2 characters and levels of LEGO Dimensions updated and working!
My thanks for previous podcast recommendations, I'm particularly enjoying The Bright Sessions, a series about a therapist and her "Atypical" patients (eg superpowered) that manages to be fascinating in a very "original New Mutants" sort of a way as we see how their abilities have impacted their day to day lives (The progression of the young empath trying to sort out his emotional life is adorable)... There are a few interesting subplots too.
I looked long and hard for whimiscally distracting news stories, but they seem in short supply, so if anyone has any local news of that sort they'd care to share, that would be awesome.

Date: 2016-11-30 03:36 am (UTC)That said, I do think the recount will have been worth it because it sends the president-elect and his team, as well as the incoming GOP Congressional majority, the message that Democrats and other opponents of Trump aren't going to shut up and let him have his way with the country. Rather, they'll be keeping a close eye on him and will push back and challenge him every step of the way. That won't in itself stop him--not until the 2018 midterms, anyway--but it may well mean the Trump administration won't be able to screw America up quite as much as is feared.
