Now why did the writer feel the need to ruin a perfectly servicable ass-kicking with all that crap about Storm being "inspired" by Black Panther?

Man, I know right?? Like I can get behind Colleen & Misty wishing the boys were there because Danny & Luke have actual superpowers but then Storm pulls out that "an honorable man uplifted me" shit and my eyes glazed over. It's a shame too because I was really enjoying it till then!

I saw "I wish Danny and Luke were here" as more "I wish the boys could see us kicking this much ass."

I read that a little too quickly, so I thought the "honorable young man" was Charles Xavier, and wondered why he had anything to teach Ororo about fighting. But looking back... yeeeah, Black Panther, and that is really dumb.
I... guess it gives a decent reason for their marriage, in a "two wrongs making a right" sort of way?

Sticking it in here coincided with the marriage events, but Claremont wrote about Ororo meeting Panther as a girl a long time ago.

I know she's a little silly, but I've always had a fondness for Deadly Nightshade's look. That is what I'd like to wear if I had the body for it. XP
