Maybe because the 'trinity' of superfriends doesn't really work to begin with. And certainly none of these characters are particularly iconic, at any rate.
Is Bizarro still doing the opposite thing that's always been a part of his character? Because if he is he's really saying that he was perfect and Jason's been fucking up his Bizarro-ness? And that he hates this world?
During Forever Evil, Lex Luthor was forced to rush his secret Supernan cloning project to combat the Crime Synndicate, known as B-0. The clone sacrificed himself to stop them, and Lex Luthor grew so attached to him that he ordered another one be made with the original's imperfections.
The other Bizarro comes from an alternate universe, and I think he went through his own 'Doomed' story arc and would later star in a comedy mini-series with Jimmy Olson.
I'm not sure I buy Artemis (even reboot!Artemis) saying "I'm not arrogant enough to believe my life is more important than any creature's." And Bizarro's dialogue is confusing (the "Bizarro knew" panel seems to imply that he didn't know, since he looks ashamed and Jason looks troubled. But then he goes "me not hate world" and "Bizarro am not perfect").
Nevertheless, I overall like this, and I'm interested in seeing more.
The original 'Red Hood and the Outlaws' (before James Tynion IV took over writing duties, at least) was a guilty pleasure of mine, and, while I acknowledge that wasn't perfect, I still had a lot of fun reading the book, mostly in the same way I liked the first and third Transformers movies.
However, if New 52 Red Hood and the Outlaws was Transformers (2007), then this is more akin to Transformers: Prime - well-written and genuinely enjoyable, for the most part.
