Is it impractical, when you can walk down any street unsuspected right up until you commit your crime, and then blend into the crowd as soon as you're out of sight of the crime?

And to make sure you aren't recognised again, you just WEAR DIFFERENT CLOTHES for the next crime.

You make a fair point, but I've seen some pretty outré backpacks in the real world, everything from Ewoks, to Cap's shield, to BB-8, so lord only knows what the one's in a superhero universe would be like! :)

Also she has no right to speak of fashion the cheetah Foot wear and plaid scarf are so loud I think I went deaf. But she makes for amusing cliche.

I see Vulture stole Luthor's invisible helmet tech.

This has potential, dialogue needs work though.

To be fair, if you take a shot every time some fresh new villain pops up as a challenge to an experienced hero and manages to score a hit or two, you'll be running up a tab pretty regularly.

To be fair, I think the new Trapster is just upholding a long tradition of villains defeating Spider-Man in their first confrontation. IIRC it started with the Vulture.

Oh I'm quite familiar with that, it's just the cliche new character mocking Costumes I find repetative just because they're wearing street clothes ironically becoming a cliche themselves.

Actually ... how does the Trapster's outfit work anyway? I don't see any straps so what's keeping the canisters on her back? Are they attached to the jacket?

Puts the pack on with it's belt, put the short jacket on top, attach the neck yoke for the top of the tanks, puts scarf on over that?

It's all about the layers! :)

Or else two slits up the back of the jacket to allow the harness to be worn under the jacket whilst the tanks are over it.

In fairness, it looks like it was a cheap shot while Spider-Man was preoccupied with another villain. It's practically double-teaming!

I find it funny that they undid the Peter/MJ relationship because being married made Spider-Man "old" but then they decide to do a free promotional comic that highlights that he's out of touch with the demographic Marvel claims to be going after.

...which is why I love the Vult...er..."Falcon" here. Way to twist the knife, Adrian.

Yeah, there was a lot of snark from both, but I didn't get the sense of affectionately snarky banter out of it I might have hoped.

I mean, seriously, who could possibly read Superior Spider-Man, and come out of it, feeling that that's why they love Spider-Man. Because for me, Slott's Superior Spider-Man showed to me even more than the rest of his run on Amazing, that Slott doesn't have the first bit of a clue in how to write Spider-Man, or what made the character loveable in the first place.

In all fairness, though, there's no one 'true' Spider-Man; everyone's interpretation is different, and usually equally valid.

Seriously, though. If more Spider-Man comics were like this - and less about aliens, parallel timelines or stuff like that - I'd get back into reading them in a heartbeat. Because this is exactly the kind of Spider-Man story I like. Sunny, fun, and snappy.

So I remember when we had three (at least) different Spider-Man books with three different storylines that took place in the same continuity, with one coming out about every week or so.

Then they decided to streamline things into one book that came out more often.

So why are we back to having two books now? Is Amazing coming out less frequently or something?

Yep. It used to come out weekly, but that led into problems, not the least of which the writers couldn't decide which of Peter's new love interests was the best.

Plus we've had team-up books like Avenging Spider-Man, Superior Spider-Man Team-Up, and Spider-Man/Deadpool.

Looks to me that Chip Zdarsky is trying to imply that Peter needs to mature and grow.
