I am of two hearts about this Cat Grant. First off, I LOVE what Jamal did with the book. On the one hand, I love that they remembered Adam and used that experience to explain why Cat had taken the turn she was currently on. on the other hand, I do not love that Cat made attacks on Kara's Physical appearance and the way she dressed, I hate using this term, but SHE of ALL people is not one to call someone out on how they dress, especially since most of what Cat had said about Kara was said about her.

Cat had a very valid argument. Why not go with that. Kara's inexperience and (kryptonite poisoning induced) behavior is a valid (if inaccurate) cause to strike at her in the news. she is a good enough writer that she DIDN'T have to resort to pettiness.

Cat should still shut the fuck up tho.

Yes, her son died. That's a tragedy. But you don't get to deal with that by devoting a chunk of your career being a woman who tears down teenage girls in public, Superhero celebrity, or otherwise. That's simply reprehensible and tenuously understandable at best.

Just go to counseling for fucks sake.

Well, they needed SOME explanation why she suddenly turned into a misogynistic caricature.

It's like Cat and Kara are having two different conversations regarding Cat's articles.

Well, giving Cat a reason for her behavior makes sense. Even though it isn't a very good one. Cat also treated Lois like crap for a while, during New Krypton IIRC.

But the Spider-Man books tried to explain why J. Jonah Jameson hates Spider-Man for 50 years, and those vague reasons rarely made sense either.

My theory is that Jameson suffers from undiagnosed bipolar disorder, hence the wild swings in his attack patterns.

But we've always known the reason he hates Spiderman. JJJ is a reactionary buffon who rags on Spiderman because superheroes just piss him off for some subconscious reason and Spidey's anonymity and lack of PR defences makes him an easy target. And because it sells papers. If we've learned anything this decade, it's that being an old man yelling at clouds is very lucrative for a news organization.

Atleast that's how I see it. And I don't really see the need for to give a character who's not even a villain, just an asshole a tragic reason to be an asshole. It doesn't make them look like less of an asshole, it makes them look like more of an idiot for being an asshole.

That reminds me, now that Spider-Man is "accountable" to Parker Industries, headed up by one of his former employees/...uh, cousin-in-law? ...has he softened his stance at all as of late, even if begrudgingly so?

Considering Spider-Man (it was Otto bur JJJ has no way of knowing that) was the reason he had to resign as Mayor. .. I imagine he has less love for Spider-Man than ever before.

I'll take Jameson over that two jerk Perry White. At least with Jameson he has a layers and reasons. Not to mention that time he refuse to cooperate with Bastion when he was about to blow the story on Operation Zero Tolerance.
