I will say this: The way it's playing out, Sabretooth as Wolverine's dad is turning out to be a much stronger idea than I would have thought.

There's a pretty awesome Jean uniform that shows up in this issue that I've never seen before. Looks kinda like the Phoenix design, but it's blue and yellow, with the same kinda stylized straps and such as the other team outfits.

Though it might not be the real Storm; at the end of the issue Gambit sees child!Storm.

In Claremont's original run Storm was de-aged into a child by Nanny, before being re-aged after she was captured by the Genoshan forces. I'm guessing Claremont's going to reveal that Storm was never really re-aged, and the adult Storm is an impostor or something.

This would not surprise me. I seem to recollect his being very enamored of the whole kid-Storm gimmick. As was I.

No, it's technically alternate universe. I don't think it'll ever amount to any kind of crossovers or anything like that, it's just "Hey guys, here's what would have happened if Chris Claremont hadn't ditched the book in the 90s!"

So far, it's about a 70/30 mix of trainwreck/awesome.

This is the first issue I read, so I don't know about question two, but as for question one, "Storm" blinded him.

Seemingly, Imposter Storm killed him. By using her lightning to peel all of the flesh off of his bones. (And yeah I know that wouldn't do it anymore in the 616 continuity where ever since that ridiculous Nitro Civil War issue Wolverine has been rendered pretty much unkillable..) Obviously Claremont is not a big fan of Wolverine being a real Captain Scarlet/Harkness ;)

And in this I actually agree with him, though I still wish he hadn't offed Wolverine, as replacing him with sabretooth really doesn't work for me. (Always hated that notion of him reforming..)

As for your other question, heck God knows.. ;)

I've been so conflicted about this series. It has X-men in character (Yay!), its like I haven't seen the real them in years. Then it has old plotlines being rehashed (ho hum). Then there is the stupid (Kitty is part Wolverine now? Wha?), the great (Scott says heroes don't kill! Yay!), and the so-so (Scott says lets team up with Sabretooth! 'mKay...).

Great series for fanfic. I've gone from Scott/Jean, to DING DONG THE BITCH IS GONE, SCOTTY IS ALL MINE to Jean wants to make it with WolverKitty!
