he only didn't because his husband- erm I mean best friend is bullet proof, and knows he can take it. if he wasn't he'd be so much puddle. and that's BEFORE Jessica gets her hands on him. (honestly i'd be more worried about Jessica. She fights dirty, and has never really tapped her full potential until she gets angry.)
