Did he? But Clare Higgins came back for the second movie, it was Andrew G Robinson who only did the first one.

I suspect that Pinheads instant elevation to iconic horror status was as much a part of that as anything. He had a unique, disturbing and photogenic look which was easy to market. Julia's look was grotesque but not as "different" as Pinhead.

The plan actually was for her to be the big bad after the second movie.

Wait...Larry was Garak? ... I totally should have seen the resemblance...even with the makeup altering most of his features, the eyes should have been a giveaway.
