Well in the nu52 continuity Lex captured superman by derailing a train full of people to knock him out, and later framed him for a fake alien virus that that Lex created,
yeah no. SUperman is judging Lex Luthor based on his memories and experiences with the pre-flashpoint. not this one. This Lex Luthor isn't just trying, Clark has admitted he has spied on Luthor and found exactly nothing that suggest he has some sort of evil plan going on.
Except he's not. Don't forget Superman Reborn made New 52 Superman and Pre - Flashpoint Superman fuse together and have their histories merge. So basically Superman and Lex Luthor have most of their Pre - Flashpoint history intact... just with some New 52 stuff as well, so this Superman isn't basing his memories on a version of Lex he once knew. This Superman is basing his judgment on the Lex Luthor he has always known.
Yeah, that was before Superman Reborn. After Reborn both Supermen became one, so this is the only Lex Luthor this Superman has had any history with. Don't worry. It's pretty confusing. Just imagine Pre - Flashpoint Superman, with a few retcons, has always been the Superman of the New 52
Lex reminds me of those guys who think women are supposed to sleep with them, just because they treated them with common decency...or the women who seem to think they deserve things$$$ because they spend time with you. I guess Supes is just supposed to forget this guy is a mass murdering psychopath, because he did a few nice things...he'll probably justify his next genocide using the "Superman was mean to me" defense.
I'm not really up on my Justice League knowledge. Anything newer than the first Nu52 arc that I've seen has been what's posted here.
Having said that, doesn't his "heroic arc" center around fighting the Crime Syndicate (which would have been in his interest anyway) and then blackmailing his way into the JL?
