... Why is Rapey MindControl McRaperton not dead yet? I mean, ever since Bendis got his hands on him, he's had absolutely no plots that weren't about him being a sick little pervert that gets off on being a mind controlling rapist. It's like Doctor Light all over again, and they killed that one off when they realized their mistake.

Good point, thank you for the reminder. My point stands, why has someone with an immunity to mind control not just killed him?

Oh for the love of... Bendis, stop using 'oh look, they're immortal somehow' as a plot point! Especially with monsters that will never stop being monsters!

In fairness, that was the explanation as to how he survived his first death, and used by Mark Waid well before Bendis.

So? Tie him to something heavy and throw him into the deepest part of the ocean! Throw him in a volcano! Cut him into pieces and spread him across the world! Dig a hole in an asteroid and push him in it! Being immortal makes things worse!

Seriously, I know that the whole Negative Zone Gulag was a bad idea on principle, but can we just make an exception with this asshole?

That just sounds like a recipe for giving Purple Man his own splinter army of the Annihilation Wave

Why not banishment to the part of the Dark Dimension inhabited by the Mindless Ones? His power wouldn't do squat to them and he'd spend the rest of his days dodging creatures that are effectively the non-sentient love children of the Hulk and Cyclops.

Well, look at a Mindless One. The description is apt.

They're big, super-strong, invulnerable rampaging monsters with one glowing eye that shoots energy beams.

The Sentry is back, right? Toss him into the sun.

Eh, an amateur stage magician with a stopwatch on a chain could take mental control of the Sentry, I don't think getting him in the same zip code as the Purple Man would be a good idea.

And hell, that's not even technically a Bendis reveal. Mark Waid demonstrated Killgrave's healing ability back in his DD run

I suspect someone like Loki or Kaluu could either get around that or find a way to make it a horrible curse rather than a blessing with relatively little effort.

I suppose the Purple Man is at least smarter than Bendis' other pet villain, the Hood, who went on a spree antagonizing Dr. Strange and a bunch of other magicians with less power but also less compassion and far fewer qualms about poetic revenge. (How at least Daimon Hellstrom hasn't delivered the latter to his richly deserved final fate is a big honking contrived mystery to me...)

He also showed up in the new Daredevil series. So that's, like, 5 things right there.

Really, he doesn't show up that often. I'm not sure where the "Bendis' pet villain" thing that other people are bringing up comes from.

I suppose he occupies that headspace for me because he's such an iconic villain for Bendis' stories dealing with Jessica Jones. He hasn't appeared so many times that I want to get a restraining order against a fictional character like I do with the Hood.

He's basically a D-grade telepath. Why hasn't one of Marvel's 15 kajillion real telepaths wiped his brain?

Of course Purple Man finds Jessica fascinating, she's the only one that got away from him. Eeesh, narcisist maniacs are tiresome to listen to...
