Look, making people accept something like "Wonder Woman's twin brother" is an uphill battle no matter what, but did Robinson really had to have him be on board with murdering his siblings to give mojo to a guy called DARKSEID becaus his mom wasn't around?
Between this and the recent issue, this run can't end soon enough.
This is my main problem here as well. If you want to introduce Diana's twin bother, this has been an utterly baffling approach to take. Especially since Jason is so all over the place as a character.
he suffers of what is known as "character inconsistency". His actions seem to depend of what the story needs, rather than fittingt he character. it's why he backstabs Diana for no good reason and then wants to save her for no good reason. He is not a character, he is a plot device.
So here ends the whole "Baby Darkseid" subplot I suppose.
Bruce must be so disappointed. He raised baby Darkseid to be better than this (or he would have if he had the opportunity before he aged up immediately).
It feels bizarre for Darkseid to use contractions. It's like, say, Doctor Doom telling Ms. Marvel to "Shut [her] cow mouth" or Kermit the Frog cursing.
While it conceivably could happen, it feels like it shouldn't.
Darkseid only really uses that stolen life-force to upgrade his clothing. Given how much significance was given to him donning the 'crown' of his jaw-thingy in Final Crisis, it's weird to see him just magic one out of thin air now.
Does Wonder Woman accomplish anything herself in this arc?
Writing a story about Wonder Woman's brother was always going to be a tough sell, especially with the why-is-this-even-still-here "Zeus was their daddy" bit, but making him this... gullible/evil is just... poor (it's a bit unfortunate that he also appears to be physically identical to an existing Jason in the DCU)
So Diana has the power of truth and compassion and all her usual awesomeness , but what did Jason get? What unique powers does he have/embody because with Zeus as his dad you think he should?
All this fervent "Father"-ing is really laying it on a bit thick. Neither of them have much reason to care about him, other than DC’s obsession with blood family.
