Sometimes, even bad ideas get excellent execution by gifted writers

IMO, that was Dark Reign Initiative. Gage has always known how to spin crap into gold, and he does it here. I only wish he was working the main titles.

I think Norman is missing how likely trying to force a woman to get an abortion is likely to get the attention of a couple of very vocal groups who *rarely* find themselves on the same side.

Also, looking back, there are some nice subtle hints that Tigra's already given birth. The way she answers Norman, and how she almost says "I won't have my kid." when talking about the Avengers.

Besides, of course, never showing during the following issues despite a rather revealing uniform :P

Good question. Tigra has shown up in some stuff but not enough to say she couldn't be taking care of him.

Though come to think of it, this may be best for William- he can vanish for awhile then come back when he’s old enough to be a character.

Probably for the best, I'd hate for him to have the same fate as Wolfsbane's kid. Or Siryn's baby. Man, I hope Ben Reilly doesn't get anyone pregnant!

Err, that happened after the above scene. Tigra gave birth during the transition between Stark and Norman.

Prior to that, the plotline went largely unaddressed

I understood the point CIVIL WAR. "The War on Terror is bad and George W. Bush is a terrible president."

I didn't understand the point of Dark Reign. "Norman Osborn is in charge and the general public of the Marvel Universe are all idiots."

I seem to remember it being explicityl stated as "People are tired (after Civil War and Secret Invasion) of Heroes Fighting Heroes, so lets have Heroes fight villains for a bit."
