scans_dailyHis enemy, the Forgotten, was preparing to devour the other Sorcerers Supreme Merlin'd gathered against them.
Newton raised his voice to the Forgotten, spoke the word that they and now he knew.
The Forgotten was blasted into their component magicians, defeated and mostly dead.
Newton went for one of them.
" Newton! " Doctor Strange yelled after him.
" You knew of the Forgotten's magic? "
(Newton's a Sorcerer Supreme here because, in his time, he's filling in for the Ancient One while that one's dead.)
Newton struck Strange and the others down, imprisoning them.
They escaped that prison and fell into another one.
They escaped that and discovered where Newton'd gone.
Strange led them there, to his time, to Newton triumphant over the Avengers in Central Park.
The Avengers got their second wind.
They aided the Sorcerers Supreme in battle against Newton and the Mindless Ones he commanded.
Strange knew that not all of the Sorcerers were at their best- the Conjuror was taking care of her brother João, one of the few parts of the Forgotten that hadn't died immediately, and the young Ancient One (Yao)'s arm was off.
He sent them to a friend of his.
They made it there, completing an echo of a bit from The Oath..
.. and met Night Nurse.
(Newton cut Yao's arm off to spite time.)
Back in Central Park, the Mindful One- an experiment of Newton's, a Mindless One given sentience, now his conflictedly loyal servant- told the Demon Rider (whom it'd bonded with while all the Sorcerers were united against the Forgotten) that Newton'd come to Central Park to get something below.
She told Strange.
Strange, who'd found and recovered that thing already, went to get it.
While Strange searched his sanctum for the item, João awoke screaming at Night Nurse's.
" He is coming! "
" Who? Who is coming? "
" The author of the book..
" The Author of the Word of God. "
Strange found the object of his search and returned to Newton with it.
The Author came.
