No, you think with all the heroes friends Peter has in NYC, they do not really help each other unless they have to in a way...

The Avengers, the FF (okay they're all off-dimension at the moment), the Defenders, Dr. Strange... tons of superhero allies for whom a Carnage-enhanced Osborn is a relatively minor threat.

Added to that, Carnage nearly managed to summon Chthon back to earth in its own recent limited series, which should have earned it the enmity of Morgan le Fay, Magnus the Sorcerer, and possibly the High Evolutionary. Any one of those three should be able to squash it permanently.

ALso... the part about Peter's leg... made me half guess this was somehow link to May's Spider Girl story... or maybe Peter loosing a leg is part of his character... like how Fin from Adventure Time would lose his arm, or the good number hints from ReBoot that foreshadow Enzo missing his eye....

Well, if ever you needed proof that Norman Osborne is cuckoo for cocoa puffs, this is it. Insanely monstrous power-up and he LETS THE BANE OF HIS EXISTENCE LIVE? I get it when the Joker does this with Batman, he loves the attention and to him it's a game, but KILL THE DUDE ALREADY, NORMAN!

(I don't want Peter dead, he's one of my favorite heroes, let's be clear)

Also, just how many times must we endure this "the villain forces the hero to quit" nonsense? It never lasts.

Presumably Peter's secret identity, which everyone forgot at some point (was that part of OMD? Did it happened another time after that, too?)

It's one of those beats they keep repeating: Goblin fights Spidey, Goblin learns Pete's identity, hilarity ensues, Goblin sorta dies.
