You know, if nothing else you got to admire Gyrich's ability to remain cool under pressure. Even having a pissed off Man Ape bearing down on him isn't enough to wipe that smug ass grin off his face.

Yeah, holy fuck, that was great job by Gyrich.

Yeah, I mean we all like to talk about Gyrich at his very worst, but Gyrich at his best is a guy so cool under pressure that butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.

This is a guy who walked into the Avengers Mansion and was like "there are too many of you guys in this clubhouse and you're tripping all over each other, literally, you want to keep your Government sanction you need to pare down the numbers here to a respectable size." Guy just walks into a room filled with super humans, some of them literal Gods, and gives them the business like he don't give a fuck.

I love how he is competent enough to be able to quote Wakandan law, and then gets right down to "Okay, so what is it you *want*?"

That's one nice thing about Priest stories - you get characters both at their worst and their best.
