Richard C. Meyer(of Diversity & Comics fame)’s successfully crowdfunded throwback to 1990s comics (raising over $200,000) will no longer be published by Antarctic Press. The reasons given are mixed: the company said that various retailers and comic shops were being harassed and bullied by fans for refusing to stock the book out of protest of Meyer’s controversial stance and actions while also being uncomfortable with his stance on certain comic creators, while Mr. Meyer insists that prolific writer Mark Waid bullied the publisher into dropping the title.
What are your thoughts? I’ve never been the biggest fan of his channel (to put things lightly), but I think that’s a shame about the physical release. I hope both he and his audience are happy with the book, at least.
If you’re interested in Jawbreakers: Lost Souls, you can find the title here.

Date: 2018-05-16 08:48 pm (UTC)"We really need a world war and a draft. We need high casualties. We need stuff like this winnowed out of society. This guy is -- let's look at his picture -- Yeah, we'll get him on a nice artillery crew. He's probably good at math, he's good at doing range tables. Tragically taken out by enemy counter-battery fire. Nice medal to his mom. Never has to explain why he was never married to a woman. Yeah. Yeah, that would settle it up*
in reference to a gay writer, Sina Grace, we can safely say that he can get fucked.
Meyer is a stain on the community and has managed to whip up support from other shitheads with little to offer, other than a desire to put comics back to a fake idea of how they used to be (when the women were there to be pinups, and the minorities stayed in their lanes)
