But, Ennis tells Heat Vision, things aren’t as straightforward as they may seem. “They quickly realize that things in here are badly skewed, to the extent that they make no sense according to the normal laws of nature,” the writer teases. “Further, unpleasant echoes of the highly traumatic major case they finished some months earlier — under dubious circumstances — begin manifesting around them, including the appearance of people they know cannot possibly be present.” Before too long, it becomes obvious that what’s going on is far bigger than anyone imagined."

I dunno, that part worked for me. What I had trouble with was caring about anything going on in the narration or with the agents.

I was wondering the same thing. Is Mythbusters still on the air? Because it seems like a question that might be able to answer.

Probably not? Don't even stuff like walls have a distressing tendency of not stopping bullets?

I recall someone wrote in to the New Scientist a few years asking if it was possible for a person to be fat enough to stop a bullet without fatality. The eventual reply was that if such a thing were to occur, said person would probably die of heart failure from the sheer shock...

The imagery here is fantastic. Something I always love in Ennis' more less jokey works.
