(The Sith'd taken Jao there, after telling him his story.)

They landed where the Carreras array'd crashed.

Ania, AG, and Sauk disembarked, accompanied by the stormtroopers Empress Fel'd attached to them.

The others found Jao restrained.

Ania freed him.

He explained that he'd been bound after sending out the coordinates that got them here, that he'd been intended as a lure for the Galactic Empire.

He didn't know where Wredd was.

What he did know was that there was something going on.

The trooper who'd hung back dashed in then, pointing out the " Multiple ships approaching! "

Everyone ran outside.

" Wha-

" It's an invasion force! " Sauk exclaimed.

" Those are civilian ships. " Ania realized.

" But why? Where'd they come from? " wondered a trooper.

The horde drew and activated their lightsabers.

They advanced, red blades bright.

" Oh no. " Ania breathed.

" All of them.. Sith? " wondered Sauk.

" Where is he? "

" We will have his head! "

The Sith advanced through the hail of blaster fire.

Wredd leapt in suddenly, cutting the Sith spokesman down and throwing Jao a saber.

The two of them fought, two red blades against many more.

The Sith still advanced.

" This way! We must find cover! " pointed AG.

They ran towards the array.

" We must find a defensible position in the wreckage-

" - where they cannot continue to attack us from all sides. "

" Slowing them down wouldn't hurt either! " yelled Ania.

Wredd looked up.

" I have an idea about that. "

He leapt to the top of the array wreckage.

Jao followed.

(The things you have to do when you're part of a low-powered narrative.)

At their defensible position, Sauk accused the trooper who'd hung back of having commed the Sith.

The trooper denied it.

Wredd, arriving with Jao, backed him up.

" It's me they're after.

" I was sloppy. "

Jao considered the saber he was holding.

" I will not be manipulated by you!

" You are Sith, and that makes us enemies. If I kill you I am still serving the Empress.

" You can't turn me from my path! "

" Jao, this is not the time. " said Ania.

" We've got to stay focused if we're going to make it out of this in one piece. "

" Look out! " interrupted Sauk.

Sith were leaping into their midst.

Ania and co. fought against the numbers that seemed uncountable.

She turned and saw a Sith coming up on-

" Sauk! "

He turned-

- and a bolt from above smashed that Sith.

" What- "

Ania looked up and saw Imperial ships overhead.

" Under orders from Empress Fel and the Galactic Triumvirate-

" We order you to put down your weapons! " sounded a voice from them.

In orbit, Empress Fel wondered to the head of her Knights.

" What..

" .. what is going on down there? The reports are chaos! We must- "

Sabers met sabers.

It aggravates me that the Jedi have this interesting array of Force powers, but all anybody wants to see (and all writers tend to give them) is lightsaber fights.

One Sith fought many. Why wasn't he being assailed by a host of Force powers from all sides? Pummeled by blasts, his saber-arm jerked aside by telekinesis, his brain clouded by mind powers?

The two drop a huge object on the oncoming Sith. Why did they not use their collected abilities to push the object out of the way and avoid being crushed?

They have all these abilities they could use, but the writers are limited by a lack of creativity or editorial mandate to solve every problem with a lightsaber.

One of the few interesting things the prequels did was establish that -every- Jedi is not a master swordsman: That Luke, Vader, Obi-Wan, et. al. were part of a line of masters and apprentices going back to Yoda that specialized in swordplay.

What they didn't do (and what few stories, even in the EU have done) is focus on Jedi who focused more on their Force powers than their mundane weapons. Show me the Jedi who is a master of telekinesis. Who uses prescience in combat to augment his abilities. Who does any of a hundred things that one could do with the Force -besides- swing a saber.
