I was hoping for something a little less dark, tonally, and palette wise. This is very Arrow, rather than Flash or Supergirl and I'm not sure that it should be for the Titans.

Robin is looking rather nice, though Alfred would be shocked by Dick's language.

I'm curious why they're not showing Starfire's costume, because her 70's retro noght out gear isn't her actual costume is it?

It appears that's her official outfit, yes. I think if it wasn't given all the backlash they received they would have done some damage control by now and shown a more comics-accurate costume.

I suspect that, while this is Dick Grayson, they are also taking from the different robins, including Jason Todd.

Yeah, they did something like that for BTAS too, where Tim had Jason's backstory and several of his traits.

Also Teen Titans. I think the creators described him as a combination of all robins into one, rather than being supposed to be Dick, Jason or Tim. Which is why you never saw him as a civilian (though I do think they were inclined to identify him as Dick for simplicity sake)

I'll reserve judgement until I see more than just a trailer but so far, the only real sticking point for me is Starfire... She really doesn't look alien enough, right now its more like she has an orange spray on tan and a bad perm. If it's budget or they haven't finished the special effects, fine but if that's the finished product they need to rethink the look.

Surprised no one's mentioned Dove slashing off a guy's face. It's a toss up for what shocked me more, that or Dick gunning down a bunch of people in the alley.

I don't know why I was optimistic for this, but I was very, *very* mistaken.

Possibly because it's so dark that it's almost impossible to work out what's going on in half the scenes.

Yeah, I saw Dove and thought "oh great, an excuse for some hamfisted attempts at topical political discussions courtesy of Hawk and Dove". I didn't even notice the stabbing.

Back in the 1970s Marvel was going strong and DC was bankrupt. Marvel could have bought DC, but figured they needed someone for everybody to point to and say "At least Marvel is better than them". I see the old dynamic still holds.

Why is something that's going to be on DC's streaming service so generically gray and angsty? The people signing up for the service will be fans of the comics, you don't need to sell this to the CW audience. Make something for the audience you're going to have.
