In any case, this is par for the course with Ennis, given that his women characters tend to fit into neat little categories. Officer Squeamish there is "Shrinking Violet" type, contrasting with Ms. Protagonist's "I'm As Tough As Any Man" persona.

I gotta wonder, how much do you suppose the artist drinks now?
I figure it is the only way he can get through doing the art for this book.
or the publisher telling the artist, "look, I don't like it either, but Garth... he has stuff on me, he says we have to publish this or else... he is VERY specific about how this has to look. Trust me it won't be that bad, think of all the lovely booze you can bu to erase the memory..."

I have a theory that hidden in the pencils are tiny drawings of bottles, as in "Welp, this is going to be a three vodka page. Should I even bother using a glass? Nah..."
