So in this story about a "human Superman connecting with regular people", he allows a corrupt power plant to continue its practices and threatens his wife in order to force her not to write her expose on the plant. Did Mr. Burns write this story?

Yeah... and this followed the issue with Clark taking down an abusive husband/parent?

I don't know about Mr. Burns... I think the people who made Season 8 of Charmed (the season where they tried to AVOID to help people when they need to on the grounds that done enough good and neglected to train the new generation in their place like they planned) might have something to do with this...

And let me get this straight, this small town is so poor that they have NO other place for work... but have enough money to bribe officials and discretely illegally dump toxic waste?

And it REALLY sucks that Superman doesn't have any billionaire friends who like to help people, let alone blow away their cash on stupid things like themed-cars or gimmick arrows. Yeah. A phone call to one or two of those to have them send work to this town would be IMPOSSIBLE...

I was thinking of the Flint water crisis, but I think we're on the same page here. Ignoring problematic industry for the sake of jobs is not something that is okay here. Yeah it would suck if the plant closed, but it still needed to close, and it is not Superman's job to deal with long term economic problems. That is more an issue for the local Chamber of Commerce and town council, finding a way to market their town to bring in employment.

Why doesn't Superman just grab a dump truck, fly it to Saturn, fill it with diamonds, and distribute them amongst all the workers? Curing cancer is one thing, but this is actually a problem he could solve.
