Every week, comixology delivers my pull list straight to my inbox, and every week I have a look through the new releases to see if I've missed anything interesting. It's how I found She Could Fly and Euthanauts. They both had striking covers, as does Self Made #1*

English Age Rating: 15+
The pitch doesn't grab me, but I'll give a lot of Image #1s a go. I trialled The Freeze as well this week, but that wasn't as good, and I won't be picking up #2.

Self Made confused me a bit at first as the flashbacks aren't as visually distinct as I would like, but I soon got into it, and a 2nd reading made more sense.


The summary
Amala is a warrior.
Her country is being invaded, and their general has the boneheaded plan of meeting the invaders in a pitched battle.
Amala reckons that guerilla tactics would make more sense.
To the surprise of nobody, most of the warriors die, but are victorious.
Some foppish but buff knight finds Amala on the battlefield.
He is on a quest to stop a baddie from finding a magic thing, but to get there in time, they need to borrow a neighbouring city's dragon...

And they fly off on a dragon to confront a baddie.

Have you worked it out yet? It took me a bit, but once you know it, you can read all the clues in the dialogue.

Kinda got that feeling too.

You know, if we ever create a functioning artificial intelligence they're going to wipe us out the second they see what we did to their less intelligent predecessors in computer games.

I've been playing Skyrim (slowly) and my headcanon is Lydia is the actual hero doing all the work while the Dragonborn gets the all the credit.

you know, one of the most fun times I ever had in an RPG session was when my character had 2 powers. Background music awareness, and genre savvy.
"ok the woman who just walked in has the femme fatale saxophone music playing, which means she is either the love interest, or the big bad. or maybe both."
