Alfred's there, but he's primarily in service to the elder Waynes. He and Bruce are probably close, but not THAT close.
I really like this ship, actually, but even if it is a Bronze Age story, there's plenty of YMMV Silver Age weirdness weighing it down. For one thing, it's a little embarrassing that a natural detective with eidetic memory couldn't noodle out the secret identity sooner, especially since "Bruce" didn't even bother to start wearing glasses until after he became Superman. For another, the reasoning behind her assuming the Batwoman identity when there's no Batman to model herself after is... well, let's call it "specious."
Love to see one of Batgirl's modern writers taking this idea on, though.
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
