Season's Greetings, fellow s_ders! Today's theme is "Favourite family moment," and as our mods are allowing us to interpret "family" as we wish, I found myself thinking of the "true companions" sort of family, such as, let's say, a close-knit band of adventurers. Like the Peacemakers at the core of Guilded Age, co-authored by our community's own
Four pages from the chapter "The Last Axemas." Credits at the bottom of each page.
On their way to seek guidance from a group of elven seers, the Peacemakers find themselves saddled once more with their most difficult former teammate, the musical warrior Payet Best. Payet, though genuinely accomplished at what he does, is also vain, narcissistic, short-tempered, and bitter over having died and come back to life (as they all have at some point or another, at least once) while still cheated of the glorious destiny he believes he deserves. The others grudgingly and barely tolerate his reemergence, but with Axemas coming up, Byron, the (recovering) berserker with whom Payet has always clashed the most, wonders whether he can do better for him. Having bought everyone surprise Axemas gifts, he decides to give Payet his present first.
