EDIT: I wonder if this is more about his history with other vampires. Vampire: the Masquerade always noted that vampires are natural city dwellers. Cities offer anonymity, a night life, and plenty of people to eat. In a setting with vampires, that's where you'd find them. If anyone's a parasite, it's a vampire.

I like this! As unchanging creatures, it makes sense that vampires would still feel strongly about politics and issues that are fossilized to everyone else. And also that Vampires of a certain age would feel far more at home in a small, conservative town that hasn't changed with the times.
Can't be much to do after dark compared to a city though.
I was thinking more of general entertainment. If you can only go out after dark, I'd think the smaller towns might get terribly boring eventually. But I suppose these Vampires may be able to go out in the sun, it differs a lot form tale to tale.
