Haha, truly a great loss that Jenny didn't stick to her guns re: calling them Bert and Ernie.

No idea why they felt the need to change it. Seems like change for change's sake. But at least it's not a buzz-cut!

It looks like they gave Majestic Apollo's costume.

(But it's looking like Majestic probably isn't going to show up in this series, which makes me sad)

Ah, is this meant to be a different version? I've not been reading The Wild Storm and I'm not totally sure what they're doing with it.

The series is a reboot. It's not apparent here, but I think this Apollo isn't supposed to be white.

Midnighter doesn't seem to be in the scans either- I just assumed it was a redesign. I was already aware of them bizarrely deciding to go with an Asian Jenny Sparks instead of just sticking with Jenny Quantum.

They wanted to keep the century-old aspect of the character. So Sparks it is.

The latter. Their lifetimes don't correspond neatly to calendar centuries anymore. IIRC, they're not even ever referred to as "century babies" in this continuity.

Apollo talk about landing on the moon reminds of the scene with Angie landing on the moon during Warren Ellis's original Authority run.

It's very much the optimism of the original Authority grounded down by the reality of how these new technologies are actually being used in the 21st century. The future is here and it's being used by paranoid ego-maniacal men to maintain their grip on power. At the cost of everybody else on the planet.
