Oh like Superman can't carve a new one of those statues in three seconds flat. Two seconds flat if he and Flash have a competition over it, and with the latter you get two statues at the end of it.
I do wish DC had leaned into the "trans Jimmy" meme/theory though. Seems like easy publicity and a good way to win points with the more progressive modern comics reader. Still, some silver age fun is a decent second best.
This was an immensely satisfying first issue, I love the idea that the Olsen's and the Luthor's are both founding families of the city that became Metropolis, so there's different rivalry between them than between Superman and Luthor, it's an older thing, a family feud.
I also love Jimmy just being... a weird magnet, and that he's actually, and probably unwittingly, turned that into something profitable. (The fact he's the only money making aspect of the entire Daily Planet empire is hilarious.
Really looking forward to the rest of this series!
I'm struggling to understand why the paper even exists anymore. Recording and uploading could be done by a single person, selling it and having it fold might cover at least some of its debt, and fact checking doesn't require printing physical copies. Are there that many folks without internet and seniors in Metropolis?
Founded by girl geeks and members of the slash fandom, scans_daily strives to provide an atmosphere which is LGBTQ-friendly, anti-racist, anti-ableist, woman-friendly and otherwise discrimination and harassment free.
Bottom line: If slash, feminism or anti-oppressive practice makes you react negatively, scans_daily is probably not for you.
