Not only Miles. Once Peter works it out in the comic proper, he burns Otto more than a few times for being a body stealing piece of shit. It was a welcome sight.

I *think* someone said Stan Lee might have been going for a Pearl Harbor metaphor with the burglar.

Um ... actually, I think that when they finally brought back the Burglar in 1979, they also elaborated on why he was being chased that time. (He'd robbed the theatre's office, according to the wiki.)

You know, something I'm really liking is how the Spider-editorial is currently just embracing as Pete/MJ as the great love instead of trying to constantly work away from it.

When Slott was given free reign to do whatever he wanted with Secret Wars he made an AU where they were married and had a kid. He was never against MJ.

I'm pretty sure he said that he was only interested in them married when Peter can have children, something that isn't happening in the main universe. And he might have said that Peter shouldn't get married in the main universe to anyone.

I don't think he's against MJ as a character though.

I got to admire Marvel for keeping us all in suspense. No previews of the final issue were made available on the comic news sites.

What I like is the way that it showed that, in the last moments of its existence, the symbiote chose to demonstrate that it does, in fact, love Peter more than it hates him.

I just wish Ben had got a better send off. Though at least the kids call him "uncle Ben" so presumably they invited him over for family time even after he took over Peter's identity, so he wasn't completely alone. But still. Ben deserved better.
