Hopefully these "First Horsemen" last longer than Remender's "Final Horsemen"

I do like that it seems like they aren't repeating the "Apocalypse has brainwashed one (or more) of the X-Men and forced them to be part of his Horsemen". How many times can they tap that well?

Slightly irked I didn't get a chance to post the Doug pages, but i DID find that someone has already commissioned the first Dougkoa art I've seen (and it wasn't me!)

I see Chuck is cosplaying as his evil sister now. That's probably a bad sign.

I'm interested in where it goes, but unless there's some twist or explanation down the line (like Magneto and Xavier getting their memories erased as part of their plan before regaining them in the present) I'm not too crazy about these far-reaching retcons which contradict a lot of their prior stories.

Wolverine complaining about all the villains who are coming over is kind of silly when people he hates like Sabretooth and Mystique are already there.

I also don't want to sound like the Comic Book Guy and complain about minutiae details, but we see Frenzy and Callisto with the villains, when Frenzy joined the X-Men in 2011 and Callisto hasn't been a bad guy in a long time. I guess it's not a big deal since they're going to be on the x-men's side now anyway, but it did kind of stick out to me. And Callisto was depowered when he last saw her; can former mutants live in Krakoa? Are they going to repower them? Will it be addressed or did Hickman just choose a bunch of characters to be in the background? it's hard to tell when the stuff that doesn't add up is intentional or not.

I don't want to sound like I'm not enjoying it, I'm excited to see what will happen, and his work shows that he's a fan of Magneto and Emma which is great.

One of the information pages detailing the resurrection process said that their end goal was to resurrect all 16 million mutants who died on Genosha, but another one of their goals is to repower the 1 million mutants who lost their powers on M-Day.

So maybe Callisto and whoever else is still depowered is allowed to go to Krakoa and just take a number and wait?

And what about the post House of M deaths?

I guess it depends on if Sinister kept their DNA catalogued even after they lost their X-genes. And if Cerebro was still making mental backups of their minds up until their deaths

iirc DNA samples that were taken before M-Day lost their X-genes as well, so you could clone those former mutants but they'd be baseline humans and they might not remember anything from after M-Day

I wonder if this all takes place in the timeloop before the current Marvel continuity. Hickman is good at blowing up the toybox, but he always has to put everything back in place.

Well... at least that'll stop the crossover nonsense.... actually scratch that nothing will stop Marvel's crossover nonsense.

I gotta say, I am loving this. I am a big fan of stories that have big ideas, and THESE are big ideas. Parallel reincarnation allowing you to use Time Travel as a weapon against an enemy?
Love it.
Sentinels trying to become a Tyoe 1 society? Love it.
Storing the souls of all your allies in backup, so they can be flash regrown. Love it.

sure this is Marvel and the wheels will come off and it will turn into a shitshow, but in the mean time...
