-"So you think starting a fight with a royal guest is the best way to cover up mistakes made under your authority?"-
... maybe I'm missing something, but... T'Challa makes a polite and innocent inquiry which is tied to an embarrassing secret related to the fact Karnak and Gorgon are *****s, so rather than changing the subject or just not mentioning it, they decide to try and murder him? Okay, being *****s is entirely in character for the Inhumans, but it does feel like someone's script got the pages glued together.
(And what happens when someone asks Karnak to pass the salt?)
Is... is this comic just "Black Panther and Storm visit a bunch of other places where everyone either acts out of character or like idiots to prove how cool they are?"
They're a-holes, but not, like, randomly attack foreign dignitaries over nothing slights. Certainly Karnak wouldn't do randomly attack like that. He'd probably wax nihilistic bullshit about humans being trash or some such because he's an imbecile, but he's not that type of imbecile.
Admittedly, the Inhuman royal family has a long history of acting like reactionary, exclusionary assholes and genetic supremacists. On any given day, some combination of Karnak, Gorgon, and the fishy guy whose name escapes me are doing something remarkably stupid for which Medusa and Black Bolt have to apologize.
Even so, this escalated quickly.
Also, you know what Medusa really wanted was a sex chamber so she and Bolt could finally get -really- freaky. She ties him up with her hair, and his safeword is "Maximus."
I didn't like the character shilling the Inhumans got in the "I Can't Believe They're Not Mutants" era, but that doesn't mean it should go in the other direction. The Inhumans are often classist bigots, but they're not stupid classist bigots.
It's a shame Black Bolt doesn't have any way to give orders directly. If only he canonically communicated through sign language or something.
Which is odd, because you'd think if anyone would need good adaptive
technology, it would be the people who deliberately mutate themselves.
Triton never seemed to have a problem getting reverse diving suits.
Though I suppose that explains why Reader needed to use human-created
braille.
I mean, even in the TV version, Anson Mount managed to invent a sign language (since ASL would have seemed a bit on the nose) that the other cast members got used to understanding
... huh. Y'know, it does seem a bit odd now that I think about it that, in the thousands of years they've been mutating themselves with the Mists, they've apparently never run into the problem of someone not being able to talk before...

Was it that off the cuff remark about being "Undiplomatic" Storm made? Like that's really worth throwing hands over?
