I know that as a Marvel style space-god type, Thor occasionally throws up unexpected powers, but I don't recall him ever having a Spidey-Sense before.

I also have concerns as to Hobbs's reportage style. "Man, this ribbon cutting sure is dull- good thing I brought along this dynamite! What a scoop this'll be for ole Hobbs!"

I was wondering about that, as journalistic ethics go, it's a mite on the side of "Indefensible"

Clearly Hobbs came up through the ranks at a William Randolph Hearst paper!

I always thought Absorbing Man was such a cool villain. I should check out the comics when he hooks up with Titania. I love a super-villain couple.

One of the best things to come out of Secret Wars, I think.

I've always had a fondness for Absorbing Man, possibly because a reprint of this issue one of the first comics I ever read as a child. He has a cool power and a good visual.

Creel plays a major role in Saladin Ahmed's recent Black Bolt series, if you want to see an in-depth look at the guy.

Good old Silver Age logic, working its magicks on ol' Crusher.
"I could rob banks... or take over a country. An' if I get bored, I'll TAKE OVER THE WORLD!"

Dare to dream big, Carl.

... it's a little weird after all the time Asgardians have been portrayed with more pseudo-medieval trappings to have Loki using Kirbytech to try and defeat Thor.

("Subautronic space distorter.")

Though in line with what the MCU did

Jane Foster: Is that a quantum field generator?
Nurse: It's a soul forge.
Jane Foster: Well, does a soul forge transfer molecular energy from one object to another.
Nurse: [Surprised] Yes.
Nurse: Yes.
Jane Foster: Hmm. Quantum field generator.

I remember reading this a couple years back during my first big Marvel binge, and wondering why the hell there were so many Thor-less pages in the thing focusing solely on Crusher and the reporter guy. Only after the fact did I realize this was probably a Weird Tale that Kirby (and Lee?) had crafted for the book's pre-superhero days, and hastily dug out (with 50% More Thor!) to fill a deadline or something.
