A reprint of FANTASTIC FOUR #37 has the first appearance of Annelle, Teddy Altman's mother. But I am posting how the Fantastic Four first travelled to the Skrull homeworld.

"Behold! A Distant Star!" has the FF going into SPACE!

These days the ship would build a bridge or tunnel to get where it had to go. And then Johnny or Ben would make a "bridge and tunnel crowd" joke.

So, intergalactic travel is like going through a ball? ...All right.

Just because Ben Grimm is smarter than he lets on doesn't mean he understands Faster-than-light travel, Reed.

Here's just a part of a splash page showing the "Skrull galaxy."

Love how Reed can just borrow a whole Saturn rocket at short notice.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, take it. We've got dozens of the things just lying around. Not like we're ever going to use them."
"Thanks. I'm not bringing it back, by the way."
"We took that as read."

Though one would think after What Happened Last Time, Reed would do the calculations before actually getting into the rocket, and that the others would be a little leery about getting into a spaceship with Reed at all.
...
... eh, what's the worst that could happen? They get mutated some more?

That actually did happen to Ben once. He went all spiky rock like and we got the Sharon Ventura "She-Thing".

That "space time warp" looks like a Steve Ditko Dr. Strange dimension.

Have the FF ever met Dormammu?

I always thought Richards, Doom, and the Silver Age Luthor were, although brilliant, actually reverse-engineering more than anything else. The original Reed, though originally "just" a brilliant rocket scientist and developer of unstable molecules, was exposed to Skrull technology in issue #2, got an actual starship from "Planet X" in #8 to study, and encountered the Skrulls several more times (and the Watcher) before this trip, the first time he actually circumvented the lightspeed barrier with a vehicle. Later he developed the Negative Zone, after encountering Galactus and others. His inventions get more advanced over time because he encounters and studies more and more advanced cultures. Doom had a time machine he created on his own, but also encountered the interstellar Ovoids and Rama-Tut/Kang. (Plus, presumably, with a time machine, he could always study far-future tech.) Luthor encountered the Legion of Super-VIllains (joined for a time), Jor-El and Kandorian technology, and Brainiac's tech.
