scans_dailyIn #6, he'd broken away from the rest of the Squad - Harley Quinn, Zebra-Man, and the challenges to modern world powers' heedless systems known as the Revolutionaries.
#7 opened on one node in those systems, the head of Kord Industries - Ted Kord.
The man who'd been using the Suicide Squad, Task Force X, to interfere in the politics of non-American countries (that didn't exist in the American collective conscious as some kind of villain) for American profit was heading up to his private jet with an assistant.
They were discussing the problem of the Squad, which'd slipped Ted's control and now had him in their sights.
(The second panel's great as reassurance: ' Ted Kord's being played as CEO supervillain to the hilt in this story, but don't worry, readers - he's still got a sense of humor! ')
Elsewhere, Deadshot was walking up to a door.
On the other side of it were two people from his past - his former girlfriend Michelle, and the daughter he'd had with her, Zoe.
(They were previously established in the 2005 Deadshot miniseries, collected in Deadshot: Bulletproof.)
He knocked on the door.
His daughter opened it..
" Hi. Sorry.
" I know.. I know you don't want me here, but.. "
.. and embraced him.
(Yes, he brought the dog from #6 with him.)
" I knew it! " Michelle yelled at Deadshot in the living room, pointing to the news on the TV identifying the Squad as " dangerous escaped criminals ".
" You lying bastard! "
" None of that is true. "
" You didn't kill anyone? "
" I killed one guy. But.. he started it! "
Deadshot calmed himself.
" I didn't lie, Michelle. I was pardoned. But I should've known they wouldn't just let me walk away.
" I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought this here. "
" Floyd Lawton! " came voices from outside.
" This is the FBI! Come out with your hands where we can see them! "
" Dad? What are you going to do? " asked Zoe, who'd followed him downstairs.
(Michelle processed another shock - her daughter's outfit.)
Deadshot stepped outside.
" I surrender. "
The FBI men swarmed him: " Facedown! On the ground! "
" H-hey, I'm not resisting. " he said, on his knees.
" You don't have to- "
" Face. Down. " said one of them, helping him there with a foot.
" Leave my dad alone! "
' Oh no. ' thought Deadshot, seeing his costumed daughter, arrow nocked on her bow.
" Drop it! " yelled an FBI man.
" Drop it or we drop you! "
Zoe's mother and father pleaded with her to drop her bow.
(I love the sweat on the guy's face: ' She just shot one of us, but she's a kid, but she's got a fucking bow and arrow..! ')
Deadshot swung the man's weapon aside as he pulled the trigger - bullets went wild.
He disarmed the guy, shoved the butt of his weapon into his face, and took the guy's pistol as he fell.
' She's watching.
' Don't murder. '
(Sending bullets and arrows into people's arms and legs is not harmless, but neither is it immediately lethal.)
Zoe vanished out of harm's way, suddenly - in a pink cloud.
She found herself held in the sky.
" Hi, Zoe! "
" .. but he's about to work it out. "
Back on the ground, the FBI men were looking up at the aircraft above them.
' Greetings, humans.. ' telepathed Fin of the Revolutionaries.
' We are the Revolutionaries.
' Floyd is one of us. You don't get to touch him.
' Those of you capable of running, I suggest you run away.
' Deadly Six is going to make that easier for you. '
Deadly Six filled the men up with the sin of Greed as the other Revolutionaries leapt down onto Michelle's lawn.
" Or we can do this the painful way. " said the Revolutionary Osita.
That threat reacted with the greed in them, kicking their self-preservation into overdrive - they fled the scene.
The Aerie brought Zoe back down to Earth.
" You okay? " Deadshot asked her.
" I'm okay. I like your friends.
" Are you okay, dad? "
Deadshot readied himself, then stepped outside.
(This works as an issue-ending splash page, but its staging looks hilarious when compared with the previous page's " everyone's hanging around Michelle's lawn ".
Pagecount's 7 and a little more than 2/10ths of 22. Issue #8 came out last week.

Also, props to the creative team for NOT killing the daughter like they did Deadshot's son.
