Or he's going to die, then Pence (who is just as evil and repugnant, but has both a brain and afilter between said brain and his mouth, so he can make a passable impression of a civilised human) will be elected because he'll get a ton of pity votes and because he won't be as crystal clear open about his association with white supremacy.

Sorry, but at this point in 2016-20, I'm just too tired to believe in good news. I'll celebrate when Biden is sitting in that office, not a fraction of a second before.

He *says* he has coronavirus. But he says a lot of things, and it's awfully coincidental that this came up 1 day after the debate. Trump does not enjoy debates, and the next one was going to be in the town-hall format he hates most. Guess who now has a medical excuse to skip out or change the rules?

(Yes, his doctor also says he has coronavirus. Trump's doctors do not have a great record for truth-telling either.)

See, I had a brief moment thinking that but no. He hates showing weakness of any kind and this would count but looks bad he catches the "hoax" he's been pushing. The fact he hasn't been tweeting since going into quarantine is a sign too. Plus, you see his appearances before the announcement and he sure does seem sick.

Plus I don't think he'd have multiple senators, RNC members, and parts of his cabinet join in. Not only does that create a lot of places the lie can be found out, but it destroys his lie that COVID doesn't actually spread that much and you're totally safe working without any real safety precautions.

I don't think if he recovers it'll move the needle on support. People are either with him or not. And as for Pence, I think if it had been so much as a month ago, he might have made a good rallying cry, but one month away is too much to reel from the chaos or codify his message for people outside the ride or dies. Like, I'm sure his people had a plan for day one, I don't think it's customized for this exact timing and circumstances. It's like defrosting the steaks and finding out you don't have enough time to cook them.
