DAREDEVIL #22
Oct. 2nd, 2020 11:45 pmDAREDEVIL #22 has a tribute to Chadwick Boseman on the cover and guest-stars Iron Man.

Story by Chip Zdarsky. Art by Francesco Mobili.
Three and a half pages after the cut.

Daredevil has turned himself in for the death of Leo Carraro. He is granted bail, but still keeps his identity secret, thanks to DA Ben Hochberg and the Supreme Court. He leaves court via the roof.

There is mention of the "Outlawed" crossover regarding teenage heroes. Fisk says the adult heroes need to get in line.
Matt decides that if this is "it" for him, he wants to make sure Hell's Kitchen is protected. So he beats up some criminals at the docks selling illegal weapons. Iron Man arrives and destroys the illegal weapons. Because Daredevil called him.

I'm not sure what non-alcoholic drink Tony is drinking here. Also, wouldn't Tony keep his tech on a lower level or something? Yes, he owns the building, but still.

Daredevil says that "street level" really means "people level." Tony says he will think about it. He also offers to give Daredevil an upgrade.
Back at Foggy's office, Daredevil learns Foggy has called in out-of-town help for the case.

Date: 2020-10-03 01:23 pm (UTC)I mean he's apparently willing to give an upgrade* to someone who is probably going to prison but he won't spend that money on the people DD is trying to protect.
*Which, knowing Tony, means a multi-billion dollar suit of armor.
People talk out the good Bruce can do vs the good Batman can do and I'll admit that, while I think Bruce can do more to stop crime, sometimes you need Batman so it's not really a binary choice. This OTOH is a problem that can can be solved by throwing money at it. FU Tony.

Date: 2020-10-04 04:09 am (UTC)Mostly I'm just offended by Tony's priorities* and this idea that the "little people" somehow wouldn't appreciate (or notice) keeping their homes.
*Batman may be the example that people drag out as an ineffective use of resources but at least he sometimes does more than punching people in the face.
