The issues written or co-written by Duggan have been my favourite installments of this event and this issue was no exception. I loved the scenes with Magik, Gorgon and Isca, loved Pogg ur Pogg (And Magik calling him a "Chonky dinosaur") and it was great getting more bad ass Storm moments
Only thing I didn't care for was Wolverine but I'm guessing that it was Benjamin Percy who wrote him in this issue as he was the co-writer, writes Wolverine's ongoing and also writes him in the obnoxious, repugnant and annoying way that Logan was written here.
I loved how literally everyone, both allies and enemies alike thought that Logan was a boorish twat though such as the part where one of the Otherworld-ers describing him as being "Like a tramp guzzling cider on a park bench"
She's right. Logan is coming off as an oaf and a boor. I hate that he's being written like this. One of the defining characteristics of Wolverine is his respect for honor, even if its not the best situation.
The writer is just taking the lazy route and assigning wolvie the differing view because it makes him, once again, the "water" to the "oil".
I agree he's a boor and being badly written as such... But at the same time, /is he wrong/ ?
Some of the kids he's taught and looked out for longer than he cares to remember are going to fight and possibly die on the morrow, and he has to be okay with it because "some of us take our vows seriously"
The sheer fucking GALL of Betsy of all people to say that to Logan, who has likely made more vows and learned the cost of keeping or breaking them than they've had breakfasts.
"some of us take our vows seriously" is the smug, snide, and insufferably short-sighted jab of someone who has never been forced to make a truly hard choice, and I really thought Psylocke would be more familiar with the concept.
“…the trouble with oaths of the form, death before dishonor, is that eventually, given enough time and abrasion, they separate the world into two sorts of people: the dead, and the forsworn.”
"It's a survivor's problem, it is." -- and Logan has survived for a very long time indeed.
I can't begin to describe how much some of the later Vorkosigan books helped me re-examine my worldview and hopefully think with a bit more flexibility and kindness than I otherwise might.

Considering T'Challa is also King of the Dead, maybe it's just a Goth thing. That would explain most of her female love interests.
