- Peter Parker, reacting in shock and horror that the man who repeatedly tried to eat his brains out of his skull, stalked and terrorised his wife, murdered many many many many many innocent people in cold blood and caused him literal nightmares for years of his life might be kind of injured

He’s upset because he wasn’t able to save him in time. Peter literally took a bullet for Norman Osborn. And even then he’s been at least at an understanding with Eddie for years now.

I get what you mean but seeing Peter react to Venom being injured as if it was Aunt May or Mary Jane does still feel strange to me

I feel like there's a middle ground between that and Reed Richards and his "Oh...oh that guy's dead isn't he? Sorry I probably should have noticed the flatline..." moment at the end there

I always thought that was moreso Venom who Peter doesn’t like than Eddie Brock. Either way, Parker would probably feel guilty over failing to save anyone, whether they be someone like Anna Maria or someone like Spider Slayer.

Though I don't think we should totally let Eddie off the hook for the stuff Venom did

He's at least a co-conspirator. I don't think it's ever been depicted as the symbiote controlling Eddie.

And even before the symbiote, Eddie Brock was the guy who psychotically blamed Spider-Man for the crime of... *checks notes* ...stopping a serial killer and revealing Eddie's fuckup.

Yeah I think at worst it's been shown that the symbiote is basically like a gooey version of the dark side...it does the whole "Use your aggresive impulses...let the hate flow through you" bit but it's not mind control or anything and it doesn't make good people bad it just makes bad people worse
