This is the quote from George Perez that I assume strejdaking is referring to:

Also, given this is a story about history, I think it's preposterous to assert that you need to have been personally involved to be able to make a judgement. You can get involved in historical reassessments like "Churchill was a great leader/Churchill was a genocidal bigot" without having ever met Churchill - it would in fact be incredibly dumb if the only people who could opine on it were people who had met him personally.

To be more contemporary, it's like trying to assert you can't express an opinion on public figures accused of abuse unless you've were there personally. Of course, that's dumb. Some facts about the situation will be released publicly, you can make your own judgement based on those facts.

The issue here is: what facts is Katana working on, what facts about the situation were actually made public, or are accessible to her. I don't believe there is a definitive, canonical answer to that. But I think given a few basic facts, it is entirely reasonable for her to make that conclusion.

Imagine, in real life, you learn the following facts about a situation.

-there's a 15 year old girl who was sent away by her parents, has suffered from malignant narcissism from a young age
-she was involved in a sexual relationship with a professional killer much, much older than her, and she was an accomplice in his schemes until she was killed when a plan went wrong

In this scenario, are you really going to say it's irresponsible to condemn the grown man, because you weren't there personally? Regardless of how much of a terrible person the 15-year-old may have been, of course you can say she deserved better than getting involved with a piece of shit pedophiliac rapist like that.

And as to what exactly Deathstroke's in-universe reputation is like, I again don't think there's a definitive canonical answer to this, but certainly people don't go 'oh you're that pedo' whenever they see him.
