To be fair, Ben re-entered his life as a crazy super-villain, and has been struggling since then. So I can see Peter being a bit reserved about things, again.

I never actually read the Clone Saga all the way through. I got partway through the second volume of the Complete Epic and gave up. I got the remaining volumes as well as the Ben Reilly Complete Epics in a Comixology sale, so I guess I will have to give it another go.

Yes, they worked it out and got along most of the time, but it was hardly a perfect relationship.

So they took Spider-Man to a regular ass hospital? Not to like Shield or the Avengers or someone actually equipped to deal with powered people who fucked up by other powered people? No slight against regular doctors but I feel someone like Reed Richards or Doctor Strange or even one of the medically inclined X-Men like Hank McCoy or Elixir would have been better suited for Peter's situation. Heck, Tony Stark's cured death a few times, he could help.

Yea, I gotta agree. All mj would have do is call Tony or Reed on her speed dial and they would probably have prevented this coma from ever happening. The argument could be made that she didn't realize how serious his condition was....but she's been around long enough not to take things for granted.

But a story must be told, I guess.....

It would be interesting if Ben tracked the Ufoes down and they showed any remorse of hearing this news. I don't think all the villians are completely heartless. Maybe Vapor would be willing to help even if the others are unsympathetic.

Yeah, it'd be one thing if a fallen hero's love interest didn't have a way of contacting the larger hero community but the F4 and and a lot of the Avengers know MJ personally. At this point she's probably more likely to have Tony Stark in her phone (and vice versa) than Peter is.

How can the doctors tell he's 'slipping into a coma'? He hasn't even closed his eyes yet! Gripping his hands tight to the sheets, refusing to open his mouth, those are nothing like 'slipping' into anything, let alone a coma.

Is it wrong that my main takeaway is "wow, Ben can afford a therapist"?

Seriously, I spent most of the Spencer run wondering when Peter was going to get a job and Ben the multiversal punching bag somehow has health care?

(And its really hard to take the life and death stuff seriously with two huge anniversaries just around the corner. Peter will be back in costume within a year)

PS: Really enjoyed the page from the preview where Aunt May immediately identified that Ben wasn't Peter over the phone. I've missed smart May.

Ben appears to be working for a big corporation that wants to use the "Spider-Man" trademark to get popularity points. So he gets everything for free: equipement, appartment, health care.
The corporation is the ☠☠☠☠ Beyond Corp, so Monica Rambeau may have words with Ben if she finds out about this.

Solicitations seem to have this Spider-Man Beyond storyline over by #94, just in time for a space-filling storyline to get us to #100/#900 (or whatever anniversary legacy number we're approaching.

So hey, at least it's a storyline with a planned conclusion?

there are a lot of agencies that provide therapy that have a sliding scale for payment, so you basically pay what you can afford. many of them take medacare and medicaid.
odds are that Ben, prior to going to Beyond, was probably getting assistance from one such place

...oh no. This looks like it's going to get silly. This "gotta get away", as in away from his body? Please tell me that he doesn't somehow will his mental self away from his dying body, like Doctor Strange using an astral projection. Spider-Ben does not need a ghost guide. That was Spider-Otto and that didn't last.

So Ben, in his Scarlet Spider persona, is also appearing over in Iron Man. I wonder if that storyline will do anything to set up how he got here. I doubt it. Cantwell's story seems pretty divorced from the rest of the MU... and has really been dragging on.
