Batman..adopts children , alien starfish, and dogs.

Looking at this , I could really see a Batman cartoon where when Batman meets a bat kid, gets thier backstory, and then they join him similar to One Piece.

See, sometimes Mark Russell does write some pretty good stuff.
I'm not sure if this story is in continuity given other depictions of Ace the Bat-Hound and other characters involved (and also, "present-day" Bats is looking kind of older and chonkier in the above scans like he's pulling a pre-retirement Dark Knight Returns kind of vibe so is this in the future?) but it's got some real heart to the way Batman rehabilitates Ace.

This issue of Urban Legends was really weak, imo. The Zatanna story at the beginning has potential and this one's also cool, but the other two are kinda meh.
