well part of the key there is she's one of the most effective leaders of the Avengers. She's a team character

Only because no-one ever took a chance to give her her own title. It would be one thing if she had a book that never sold and got cancelled, but no-one has even TRIED to let her fly solo.

Carol Danvers keeps getting relaunched, but Marvel has never given poor Jan a fraction of those opportunities.

Well, one of the reasons Carol keeps getting relaunch after relaunch is sos Marvel can keep a death grip on the "Captain Marvel" trademark.

Nowadays, yes, but she also had her 25 years apart Ms. Marvel series.

Guess it's another thing to blame Bendis for; under his tenure, Jan's total contributions to the Avengers were causing Wanda to disassmble everyone and then being turned into a human bomb.

While Bendis's handling of Jan was terrible, I don't think he can really be blamed for Jan's shabby treatment overall.

Bendis was the one that gave Carol the push in House of M which lead to her second solo series. Had he wanted, he could easily have given that role to Jan instead.

But House of M was a while ago.
Any writer since could've also given Jan a similar push as they've tried with Carol.

Yes, but it's been downhill from there. That was her last big chance - unless perhaps she'd ended up saving the day instead of exploding at the end of Secret Invasion, I guess.

With her 'dead' for so long, and then a new Wasp created to mesh better with the cinematic universe, there's never been another opportunity as brimming with potential.

And let's face it, if Nadia can't hold down a series, Marvel is not going to try with Jan. One may as well wish for a Hank Pym Ant-Man series!
