Now, we all agree that Dick's explanation why he was able to pass all Batman's tests was bullshit, but with Hal, Bruce, Tim and Jason dead and Dick, Damian and Cassandra turned, I think this is going to be a more interesting comic than I expected.
Huzzah for the end of vampire Green Lantern, it’s crazy how he was able to get this far.
So how come Cass couldn’t sniff out Dick was a vampire? Was his acting just that good, or is it a byproduct of Tamaranean blood? Dick was able to use Starfire’s blood to bypass sunlight, but how does that help him bypass holy iconography? What would make Batman such a threat to Dick’s status? Hal keeps saying “I’m still me, I’m just a vampire now” but that’s clearly bullcrap since not only is he a lot more competent and imaginative than he was in life, he and every other vampire in this book outside of I, Vampire has been shown to be undyingly loyal thralls to Dick and turn against their previous morality at the drop of a hat. Heck, if they were really themselves, Wonder Woman should probably be peeved because she pretty much already had all the strengths of a vampire with none of the weaknesses and now she’s got to suffer drawbacks she never had (when, to quote Batman himself on the matter, she “had no kryptonite” before). If I’m not mistaken, folks like Starfire and Martian Manhunter can’t be turned because they’re not human, but then why did they talk about turning Superman last issue? Why does Jason need to drink vampire blood to turn when everyone else is converted by just a bite? How *did* Dick get Hal, anyway? Or Zatanna? At the end of the issue Dick goes on a big rampage of destruction now that there’s no feasible threat that could stand against him, but isn’t that just destroying his food?

How the hell did Green Lantern turn Diana, anyway? Is she not a god in this continuity? (I'd expect a vampire to combust on contact if so.) Even if it's set in a continuity where she's a human granted powers by the gods instead, she's fought Superman on more-or-less even terms and her main weapon/tool is an indestructible, divine, golden lasso.
I’m guessing either divinity/holy imagery doesn’t actually work or it’s exclusively Christian iconography that vampires are weak to. Because even if she’s not a demigod she’d still have at least one god’s blessing, vampire Hal should have just keeled over on the spot the minute he took a sip.
I've been asking these questions since issue one. This entire series is full of nonsense. The ring protecting Hal from the sunlight was brilliant, I've got to admit...but the ring itself should have abandoned Hal. His will is not his own so it couldn't be that he was keeping the ring from leaving through sheer will.
Wonder Woman should have been immune, as you stated. Starfire's blood shouldn't make a vampire immune but kill them immediately. It's full of absorbed sunlight. Even more than Superman's. Superman would be a fairly useless vampire. No more useful than any other human. A solar powered hero unable to stand the sun is pretty pointless.
And then you have Swamp Thing, Poison Ivy, Dr. Light, Firestorm, Halo...people who have powers that could easily wipe out vampires. A vampire invasion just isn't likely in the DC universe. It requires too many characters being idiots.
I would imagine that in Post-Crisis stories making sure that people like Dr. Fate never have reason to investigate any vampiric wrongdoing would be pretty high on the collective vampire priority list. Hell, it seems like every time someone dies from being fed upon would be a roll of the dice that the Spectre might notice and not have a more pressing murder to avenge at the moment!
Ollie reacting to fnding out that Vampire! Hal is still in fact Hal Jordan by going "I must kill you now" is also how I would react tho for different reasons XD
