Welcome to the Marvel world. The public likes the people on avengers, despite many of them having powers. However, the public never questions how similar they are to mutants. Those avengers with powers must have had some genetic mutation as well.

Aaaah! "Do I look cute to you, boy? Do I make you want to smile?" That is a reference to the cover of the issue where Green Goblin was introduced. Him and his rocket powered broomstick. "Does the Green Goblin look cute to you? Does he make you want to smile?" He had hired the Enforcers and lured Spider-Man to the desert...I think it was in Arizona? Where does the Hulk usually hide out?

Very possibly. I'm mostly just amused by considering that, before Norman laid down some foundational tropes for what being a Goblin in Spider-man's orbit was all about, "Goblin," is really a broad enough identity that you could include all sorts of things. So he throws pumpkin bombs (just like a goblin would... because of some vague "spooky Halloween type things," theming?) flies around on a glider (as goblins are notoriously wont to do) and has a big purple nightcap (just like goblins wear!)

Hey, the bombs do the job according to Hobgoblin. Quiet explosion that can melt through a safe several inches thick. Personally, I liked the razor bats more.

Regardless Hamilton didn’t invent anything, he stole Norman’s stuff after finding his old hideout. It’s still Norman’s equipment.

The time Flash got kidnapped by Doctor Doom while he was pretending to be Spider-Man should have cleared up all doubt about him being Spidey, honestly.

Also, Bobby's line reminds me of the "what are we going to do with thirteen X-men" line from later down the line.

Probably the point, but Green Goblin vs original X-Men is a bit surreal to see, as, until Civil War, Gobby may have been the single most exclusive arch-villain in the entire Marvel universe. Maybe Ultron excepted, but even then, "only" fighting the Avengers means you're covering a lot of ground. This is probably because a lot of his history involved being inactive through amnesia or "death", but one could almost make some twist about him only being a figment of Spidey's imagination, for all he interacted with the other heroes.
