I'm sorry, what's the point of her helping these employees unionize when she's just going to kill them? It rings rather hollow when the raise isn't going to keep them breathing.

I feel like that's a deliberate point. Like she's caught between trying to be a monster and having human instincts.
She isn't actually planning on killing these workers anyway.

No, she totally is going to kill them. She can't stop it. The infection will spread all over and once it kills Ivy, there's nothing to protect anyone.

Oh I mean she will kill them eventually but she says that she can stop herself from spreading it. She's deliberately not doing that here.

Like I think there's a deliberate cognitive dissonance between her actions to murder humanity in general and the humans she interacts with.
