Well, I haven't touched Loki in nearly 10 years! And I'm pulling them right out of the last story I did with them—kind of a time-travel deal, maybe something more metaphorical, we'll see how it plays. So Loki hasn't changed at all, it's the world around them that's changed. I'm kind of the opposite—I feel like I've changed massively and I'm not done changing yet. Maybe part of this is just meeting back up with an old friend to compare notes. -- Al Ewing

Amidst the turmoil of the awful "moral panic", I am grateful to a writer like Ewing for pushing the message that unless all are free, nobody is.

Given the clear Kirby homage in the art, it's a nice callback to Kirby's personal ethos established with the New Gods regarding life, freedom, and anti-life.

Just a general reminder that between ending Loki: Agent of Asgard and beginning Defenders Beyond, Al Ewing came out as bisexual. Which is very, very relevant to the story he is telling.
