Mimi's Ghost Stories part 3

Once again, we look in on poor Mimi. (First is here, second, here.) At least she's out of her apartment this time...

So, after the last few stories, Mimi needs a vacation...she, Naoto, and two of their friends head off... (Also, the translator or editor makes a really silly mistake...)


Skinny dude's a class act, all the way. His name is Furusawa, by the way.

But, story of Mimi's life, Naoto doesn't believe her.



Love at first sight for Furusawa! He decides he is going to make it with their waitress. Naoto doubts it, so Furusawa declares he'll pull her within the hour, and recruits Tanaka to help him...



Such a healthy relationship Naoto and Mimi have.

And I love that last panel...

So, anyway, Furusawa manages to charm the waitress, and they spend the day together...





Spooky, spooky chick...seems more suited to Mimi than Furusawa. ... Oh, goddess, I'm starting to 'ship for this series? ;_;

As with the last chapter, if this story was done in the TV series, it hasn't been translated, so, for the Kaidan Shin Mimi Bukuro episode, we go with a thematic connection...'unheeded warnings'.

Hmm, forgive me, but I find the absence of resolution here to be more annoying than intruiging. I can see why you're doing it that way, but it's just slightly aggravating.

Unfortunately, this one is a difficult one to cut down - either half of the above, and therefore, large chunks of the backstory are left out, or...it's left as a tease. I almost decided not to post it, because of that, ended up deciding to go with the tease.

Honestly, I agree with icon_uk here. Just saying it in text (the way a lot of other posts are done) would be fine, and would probably push me to seek out the stories more than just being left hanging with a "you'll have to read the rest" without so much as a link.

To be fair, I don't think Furusawa or Tanaka are capable of NOT looking manic. (Though, obviously, by the end, the mania is no longer entirely happy.)

So now that you've got me hooked, *points accusing finger* where can I read this? XD The last time someone got me to read Junji Ito, I spent four straight hours reading through ALL of "Uzumaki".

I love Junji Ito's work so much... XD I only wish they sold these books in the US, so I could find out what happens. @_@
