I love Arthur Adam's art here... but Illyana's bikini really impressed a much younger me. :)

holy crud, I have this issue. I never made the Popeye & Bluto connection. I see Olive Oyl is in there too.

Perhaps, like beyondthefringe, my much younger self was also too distracted by Illyana's bikini to notice.

Magnificent indeed. I still have this issue, and will never fail to marvel at the gorgeous artwork within. A triple sized issue too IIRC. What a treat it was. Those opening splash pages in particular took my breath away, They're just so wonderfully detailed.

Oh and the story ain't bad either. A real nice change of scene for the New Mutants.

They're not seen here, but the scenes with Wolfsbane are responsible for me falling in love with the character.

Yes indeed. One of the best things about triple sized issues like this special was that it pretty much gave everybody room to shine.

These pages are much easier for me to read! I'm seeing all the details...which is great for a lovely spread stuffed full of little details like this.

Hmmm...I wonder if there is way to make it display more workably for your screen? I'm afraid I haven't touched my Imgur account in years, so I'm not familiar with how its embeds work. I know Dreamwidth also does some auto-resizing that users can somewhat control, but am not sure how that could be used here. It all starts getting a bit tech-y for me at some point.

I'll probably leave it at that. It's easy enough to zoom out on a tablet any way. It's not like all the rigmarole other people had to go through to zoom in.

In fairness, he's a NORSE god. He probably hasn't seen anyone with skin darker than a mild tan...unless they were a dark elf.

I would say that "moderately jacked " (which Doug is) or even "extremely well jacked" by human standards doesn't mean much when compared to Asgardians
