Shadow war is against the people who sic'ed the Avengers so they could keep... controlling world leaders.

Honestly they need to check who sends them their tips so they can think for a minute.

Matt broke a bunch of violent criminals to fight a shadow war he didn't tell the other Avengers about. The Avengers are going after him because it looks like he's either gone evil again or clearly isn't in his right mind.

Matt isn't in his right mind (again) so he's going to take it at face value but anyone claiming Foggy is in Hell is obviously lying and should not be trusted.

Not sure if he believes that, but he does know that Foggy is dead.

Matt really needs to have a chat with Johnny Blaze. He's met God. Helped him regain his throne when he was briefly deposed. Definitely not dead.

New policy: after this and Punisher, every Marvel comic now ends with the Avengers showing up to beat the crap out of the protagonists. It might derail Doctor Aphra a little, but it can only improve Planet of the Apes.

I do think it feels too soon for another one right now when we had "CW 2.5: Millennials Vs Gen Z" three years ago.

I would love to see the Great Lakes Avengers stuck fighting against other groups like that and somehow bumbling their way to victory each time. Unless Squirrel Girl comes back, which would make it less a bumble to victory and more a relaxed, easy victory.

That was sort-of what Simon Williams did in a two-annual crossover story. AVENGERS ANNUAL #1 and NEW AVENGERS ANNUAL #1. His team was called the Revengers.

Simon was having something of a prolonged paranoid breakdown, where he kept attacking the Avengers to "prove" they didn't work.

... I don't think Bendis liked Wonder Man very much.

Steve is getting up there in years. I mean, you can only be aged and reverted so many times before some of it sticks.
