In the previous issue Otto tried to transfer his mind into Spider-man again and when he failed, the mind transfer wire hit Spiders-man (spider-verse peter that got eaten by a bunch of spiders but his mind possessed them).

Apparently the Superior Spiders-man's vague psychic powers allowed him to take over Bailey as well.

Apparently...which means that there's going to be an Otto fight because there's no way the two of them will accept the other.

Well, this explains why after coming to a truce here, Otto is still a making a Sinister Six over in Amazing. I wondered how they were going to square that.

(Objectively, Otto is too big a Spider Foe to ever be off the table as an enemy for too long, but it’s also still disheartening that the nature of comics generally resists big permanent upsets).

I mean even with a truce for this story, Otto is constantly tweaking and turning on Pete in various ways basically every issue.
