I'd say if anyone was Claremont's Mantis, it's Sage.

(Obviously, Storm and Shadowcat are his superfavourites, but for Mantis comparisons, it's definitely Sage.)

(thought at first that was just the underparts of her regular outfit, and all the red bits had been destroyed or something.)

Wonder how many times a week Mystique had to murder someone because they walked in on her while she was monologuing out loud in her real form.
She could lock the door or put a sign up, but sensible decisions aren't Raven's thing.

Did they ever explain who Mystique was working for in these issues? By the time she started appearing in X-Men, she was the one running the show.
